about

AUDIOMETRIA - 'SUBMULTIPLO'. by Geoff Mason. 'Long Way' starts with atmospheric sounds and effects. After 2.5 miniutes a sequence comes forth with atmos' and builds in volume and power, rather brooding. It briefly subsides then resets itself and a second rapid sequence and a lead line plays over the top at quite a pace. Great stuff! Atmos' sounds join in and pitch-bending lead lines play along rapid layered sequencing and arpeggios. Fantastic! 10 minutes has just flown by. It fades out leaving us with washes of ambient organ sounds. Great track! 'Particle' starts with flute and atmospheric warm beauty, slightly melancholic and relaxing, but then a rapid sequences interrupts the calm with effects and a second sequence joins in and it builds to a euphoric and hypnotic brew, rising higher and higher, then a deep bass sequence adds power, and it is like you are weaving through a double-helix of D.N.A. on a 'fantastic journey' like in the sci-fi film! It has the most amazing high and my whole body is moving to the music. It briefly eases just long enough to take a breath, then Pow!! full on berlin school heaven. At just about 11 minutes it dissolves into a bliss and washes of sound like on the sea shore. What a fantastic track! 'Submutiplo' starts with briefly atmos' sounds and a sequence builds with effects, a second sequence bounces along, and more layers become higher and rapid, lead lines come and go. This is real head nodding foot tapping stuff, I'm playing air keyboard and gone to heaven! I am wearing a big grin right now! After 10 minutes it eases into an atmospheric ending. Phew! This is an amazing journey.. 'Uxem' starts with some strange noises and a piano plays delicately with atmos'. I was ready for some respite! This is carressing my mind with calm, and sound like the Earth is breathing, and mellotron sounds like mid-70's TD. At about 8 minutes a sequence starts up with piano playing, a second more rapid sequence joins in and we are now accelerating into high speed mode, then it backs off allowing for effects and anticipation, more layers are added and it builds to a crescendo and we're at full volume! This piece gives us a dramatic feel, then it eventually subsides into atmospheric sounds. At just under 20 minutes this is a fantastic way to end an essential album!
